There are plenty of reasons behind a slow loading WordPress blog.  Here I am elaborating some of the generic problems that create conflict with your WordPress blog and make it load slowly. I am also adding some tools to make your WordPress blog faster.

  1. Poor Web Server

This is one of the biggest reasons for poor performance of a WordPress blog.  A poor web server can create havoc with your blog and gives you frequent down-times and drastically slow down your blog.

Today there are plenty of web hosting companies are out there, finding a right one of very difficult.  We always look for cheap and reliable web hosting. But make sure that you will get quality customer support and high performing servers.

Using too many plugins can also slow down your WordPress blog. I always suggest my users use the minimum amount of plugins until it is not necessary.  Using too many plugins can call multiple functions and it creates load on your server and slow down your site.

In many cases using high CPU usage can suspend your hosting account.  So, make sure you use the optimal amount of plugins. You can also deactivate the unwanted plugins and delete them from your server.

  1. Poorly designed blog

A poorly designed blog can also slow down your site. Make sure you are using premium themes for your blog. I am not saying that free themes can slow down your site, but in many cases, free themes are written with poorly designed codes and CSS. It does negatively affect your site performance.

For best WordPress themes you can go with Mythemeshop and Genesis Framework.

  1. Using too many ads and JavaScript.

Bloggers tend to make money quickly with their blog and hence they started adding too many ads and JavaScript codes to their blog.

Adding too many ads can also slow down your WordPress blog.  You may also use asynchronous JavaScript codes to load your site faster.
